My art “Lilies in Red Shadows” is on display in Moorhead at the Hjemkomst Center for 2 months June 7 – August 7, 2021.
I received a Merchandise Award – and it is a Winner for me! worth $52. (Zoom meeting) It is new and unique enough that I have never heard of this product.
The prize is a Vivia Watercolor set and sketchbook. The hard cover Sketchbook is 4.5” x 6.5” with hot press paper, 64 pages, 32 leaves, hot press acid free paper,
Relative size = 2 ¾’ x 5 ½ “ is the pad of Vivia colorsheets. The Vivia colorsheets are small pieces of paper, long lasting & comparable to half pans. There is 2 pads of 16 colors in each. One group is Super Vibrant made from premium dyes. The other is identified as spring colors. Is Handmade and baked in the sun.
This family owned business is located in Nashik, India and they are employing women in their community so to have dignified employment.

It has been accepted into the NorthStar Watercolor Society National Juried Watermedia Show 2020.
I have to deliver the painting in about 2 weeks to the juried show site about 100 miles from our home in Central MN. Ice fishing is a quiet sport in wintertime and one must use precautions to stay warm.

Happy News to share with you! I Received news that at March Reception at the Jaques Art Center, Aitkin, MN in the 16th Annual Juried Art Show .....my painting received a 2nd Place Award from the judge! Nice money award too. We were sequestered at home so chatting is now per internet.
Just sharing! This joyful painting was just accepted into a juried show in Minnesota ( 3/13 - 5/2/2020) and it will grace their walls for a two month long show in March at the Jaques Art Center, Aitkin, MN. Since we live in a state with snow and cold that lasts for a long period of time, I appreciate opportunities to add color and light to describe scenes I can see in my head and heart.

Kathy Braud and husband attended the Lakeville Center for the Arts for the reception of the NorthStar Watermedia Society 5th National Exhibition, Oct 27, 2019. The Five Wings Arts Council (FWAC) honored the accomplishments of artists and arts leaders from Morrison, Cass, Crow Wing, Todd and Wadena counties at the Celebration of the Arts on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Great River Arts in Little Falls, MN. The 10th year Anniversary of the Minnesota Legacy Amendment and the impact on arts in our state was also celebrated.
I was honored to be a recipient of FWAC’s Outstanding Community Arts Leader for Morrison County, MN. It was humbling when FWAC Executive Director, Mark Turner, said the following, “Kathy Braud, is a premiere example of an artist who is always striving to learn new things and to challenge herself in her medium. Her artwork is known for its bold and dramatic use of color, capturing a mood, memory, or experience that enriches the spirit. Our lives are all enriched by the work of this award-winning artist.”

The celebration of the 10th year Anniversary of the Minnesota Legacy Amendment by the Five Wings Art Council has happened, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Great River Arts, Little Falls, MN.
Kathy Braud & husband were invited guests at the dinner, music, social time and recognition of the 11 participants.
It was a fun evening! Dress up time! They had a program, said nice things and had a slide show regarding each of us.
We learned a lot about the variety of activities showing up in all five counties. Money was well spent to get the projects going and produce such good rewards. Our local St Francis Music Center was awarded the Arts Organization of the Year...... and have many teachers and students.
The Black and White Restaurant catered a nice meal – and served a Legacy Chocolate Cake also!
Nancy Ratzloff, an artist & retired grade school teacher, was featured also from Morrison County.

On a walk exploring a beautiful Minnesota pond, I found a wonderful assortment of reflections and shadows of sky and trees on the surface of the water, inter-mixed with a colorful flotilla of rooted water lily plants and small water lily flowers adding color to the scene.

We went to the Preview Night -- at the Minnesota State Fair Fine Art Exhibition on August 21, 2018. Kathy Braud and friends attended the event and enjoyed the social opportunities of talking to friends from all over the state. My art was displayed beautifully!

Watermedia exhibit - May 29 - July 11, 2015

This exhibit is by three artists who love to paint the nuances and spirit of the Minnesota's landscapes, flowers and animals.
FAA artist Kathy Braud RRWS, Kerry Kupferschmidt and Dan Mondloch all paint in watermedia (watercolor, gouache and acrylics), but they all have distinctly different styles and approaches. All three are members of the Central Minnesota Watercolorists group in St. Cloud MN.
Hope you can come visit this beautiful display and see what brings these longtime painters together, what makes each of their work unique, and learn about what inspires them to paint.
Dan gave a wonderful landscape demo during the reception. The art work is very similar in colors and style but each artists' work is very unique.

Kathy Brauds watermedia entry, Schoolhouse Art, submitted to an art contest in Central Minnesota, was chosen as one of 12 purchase awards to become a part of the permanent art collection at the restored 1906 Chippewa Falls Schoolhouse Exhibit.
Artist Reception and Exhibit Opening is scheduled for June 7, 2014 at 1 pm. The schoolhouse is located on Summit Drive next to the Church.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Terrace Mill Foundation, 27165 Old Mill Pond Road, Terrace, MN with preparations being made to preserve the history of one room schoolhouses in Minnesota.
Audio recordings of history, interviews with former teachers and students, and with judges and artists will be collected with delivery of artwork for the exhibit and will be used as a part of the permanent collection in the school. A CD Production of the history should be completed by June 21, 2014.

In the spring of 2012, Snts owner Tessa Leung teamed up with Southeastern Minnesota artist Fred Ginocchio to create a new method of showcasing artwork at the restaurant. Watercolor artist Kathy Braud and her art display at Falcon National Bank advertised the November 16, 2012 St. Cloud Art Crawl (St. Cloud,MN) in the next morning's newspaper article in the St Cloud Times (Jason Wochter, reporter). Dennis and Tammy Warner, depicted, visited with the artist.
Stands of mounted works and a significant display of sizable watermedia art (including framed paintings) were on view.

Kathy Braud was awarded a Five Wings Arts Council Individual Artist Grant
after the Five Wings Arts Council recently reviewed grant applications Oct 2012 and awarded them mid-November.
This grant will be fulfilled in the year 2013.
Funding is available to individual artists in a five county area wishing to take advantage of arts related opportunities that will take their career as an artist to the next level. Projects include skill development, education, marketing, equipment purchase, etc.
Braud has been awarded seven grants from her arts council.... and feels honored. The attached Braud photo depicts Kathy with her 2012 award, the Holbein Award of Excellence Certificate and Merchandise Award in the Red River Watercolor Society's 19th Annual National Watermedia Exhibition, Hjemkomst Gallery, Moorhead, MN.

Kathy Braud watercolor entry, REFLECTIONS IN COLOR, was selected for inclusion in this years Red River Watercolor Societys 19th Annual Juried National Watermedia Exhibition by juror Donna Zagotta.
It will be on display June 17 September 16, 2012 at the Hjemkomst Gallery, Historical & Cultural Society of Clay County, 202 1st Avenue North, Moorhead, MN during normal business hours 7 days a week.

Kathy Braud was awarded a Five Wings Arts Council Individual Artist Grant after the Five Wings Arts Council recently reviewed grant applications from Oct 2010. This grant will be fulfilled in the year 2011.
Funding is available to individual artists wishing to take advantage of arts related opportunities that will take their career as an artist to the next level. Projects include skill development, marketing, equipment purchase, etc.
Kathy has been awarded six grants from her arts council.

June news!
This poppy painting, "September Orange Poppies," was the submission of Kathy Braud and received the most votes for the People's Choice Award for the First Place Painting at the Awards Presentation!
The Breckenridge Chapter House and Izaak Walton League hosted a free art show of Nature and Wildlife paintings, photographs and sculptures at the Breckenridge Chapter House, 8816 West River Road, Brooklyn Park, MN www.breckenridgeikes.org.
Kids Activities, Nature crafts, Music and Art/craft booths and mounted works and cards were available for sale also. People supported their favorite artist by voting - as there was a "People's Choice" ribbon. The event was held Friday June 24 - 26, 2011 with a Presentation on June 28 by Presenter: Don Luce of the Bell Museum Natural History.

The Strut Your Stuff Art Contest winner has been chosen - Kathy Braud's rooster, Strut Your Stuff-6.
Her image will be used for promotional materials to advertise the major fundraising event for the Boys and Girls Club of Morrison County.
This artwork has been donated to the club to raise cash in the upcoming auction.

Little Falls artist, Kathy Braud RRWS, received a Best of Show award Monday eve at Blaine City Hall, Blaine, MN. Her watercolor painting, "Long Purple Shadows Rule", received the top award for the Winter in Minnesota Show on display till December 30, 2010. The shows Awards Gathering was in conjunction with a large all-generation community social gathering to enjoy winter activities in Blaine.
