Painting - Watercolor
Description
I started this gorgeous watercolor with the pressure of an audience, a big mirror above me and was demoing for the watercolor group and visitors at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds! Only over time has it become this striking beauty, as watercolor is a forgiving medium. It allows new interpretations to nestle in, over-ride and be reclaimed. I love the ability to make the white of the paper work for me. White is a great background and accommodates peek-holes and saved edges of the subject matter. I just repeated these joyful colors and the painting comes together. Is now in a square format.

Whenever I see this tulip pot painting.... I am so thrilled! Just by making the image bigger ( by excluding a lot of paper and extra foliage) it became so much more interesting. What fun it is - to find new joys that might be there within your image..
