Description
In this Central Minnesota landscape painting near our home, I enjoyed telling the story of a calm winter scene near the very end of the day. This is shadow time, when the elderly trees cast their long shadows, gleaming with color, over a thick layer of snow. The sunset sky reflects color and pines add color to the background. The birch trees make a statement with their black and white bark, snow and a variety of branches.

It is April 17, 2021 and it is snowing big beautiful flakes of snow outside.. The wind is having fun blowing the many white flakes around and They are not accumulating!!!

Kathy, today I am enjoying a visit into your WINTER COLLECTION...perhaps because we had SNOWFALL in the Bluegrass for two days last week...:-) Your depiction of early daybreak over snow does not disappoint! The transitional Colours of Autumn grasses and conifer greens emerging thru Winter-white snowcarpet with twilight indigo shadows and sun glare are BOLD...STUNNING! Winter Wonderland is the term that comes to my mind...LF
