In Her Glory II
Artist
Kathy Braud
Medium
Painting - Original Watercolor On Paper
Description
I do love this cat painting! The shadow and sunlight designs are wonderful! Painted with a very limited palette, this regal cat watercolor portrait takes the viewer by surprise.
In Her Glory was an award winning painting in the Juried Red River Watercolor Society National Show and in many other juried watercolor exhibitions in Minnesota.
How did I get this special photo reference? Well, I finally laid down on my tummy in front of her. And there she was, on her rug throne watching me, every bit the royal queen of the house.

Kathy, on this first day of contest tribute, my gaze goes to your twelve paintings in the OVER 3,000 VIEWS COLLECTION. It does NOT disappoint!! Some of my favorites reside here...shining in Light and AMAZING COLOUR splay! Is it any wonder WHY I chose your contest title to be “Colour My World”? ... Thank you for sharing your glimpses of Emboldened, Brightly Coloured Beauty thru FAA that the World might SEE and enjoy!

At first I wondered is this a picture? The stately cat, the way the light hits it, it's so wonderful.
Kathy Braud replied:
It was rich color around that cat and the light beam was perfect. I am so glad she stayed in place while I figured out how to capture her pose.

Bijan Pirnia
She does look glorious, doesn't she? That's why it has been wisely said that dogs have owners, but cats have staff. Don't you agree? Your gallery is a delight, my lady.
Kathy Braud replied:
Thank you, Bijan! Much appreciate your visit and chat. so glad you enjoyed my variety of art.

Just sharing this CAT painting designed many years ago… When I was a “young” painter! I do love this cat painting! The shadow and sunlight designs are wonderful! Painted with a very limited palette, this regal cat watercolor portrait takes the viewer by surprise. How did I get this special photo reference? Well, I finally laid down on my tummy in front of her at a friend’s house. And there she was, on her rug throne watching me, every bit the royal queen of the house.
