Description
This simplified cloud landscape painting was done in layers. Leaving the white of the paper alone describes the bold wonderfulness of light. Then the greyed neutral colors of diluted watercolor pigment are laid down. Progressively, the images get darker to describe the nearness , the mass and the bulk of the shapes. I really enjoyed the construction and the appeal of describing my surroundings in this way

Thank you, Laurel! Grayscale is unique. Whatever the grey (even if on the blue side) it can be diluted to be very light, describe volumes of clouds in different layers and become very dark. I try to set the dark against the sunlight also so to use it's power of presence.. Nice to be in touch with your landscape and see it blossom with light and dark in the sky and take up some room.
