Fancy Waterlilies

Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
This beautiful garden pond caught my eye and was captured on a trip to a warm climate. I was taken with a pool view of the fancy waterlilies blooming next to lily pads. Reflections of color of the sky and water were textured by the wind. While the flowers float on the surface, some petals are submerged under water and others create a shadow.

When it comes to painting flowers, the art must stay simple and emphasize one or two flowers. A riot of many flowers often overwhelms the art work and loses the beauty that lies in every flower. By focusing on just two water lillies, you've created a great painting! Well done, Kathy!
