Description
Surprise! This colorful watercolor abstract is of a family of chickens enjoying the warm heat of a summer day. The original was displayed at the Minnesota State Fair, received an award and was sold.
It is amazing what the eye can decipher from across the room. At first appearance, one sees a jumble of colors separated by the white light of sunshine. Then as we make sense of it all, we see the order of a family of colors, light against dark, overlap of shapes, and medium values that tie the whole together. It does not matter if primary and mixed colors are put together, they just read as happy and colorful.

Dear Kathy, today’s later start is landing in your amazing BIRDS, ANIMALS AND CHICKENS COLLECTION! I love birds...and I especially have a fondness for chickens. They have such obvious personalities...just watching them interact is an unfolding story of life a d humor at its best. You capture their personalities SO BEAUTIFULLY!...I LOVE ...this rooster and his bevy of ladies... look at the ladies pose for his attention!...L

Exciting times! The original for this image was sold years ago after being in the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit. Today a large Artplace commission of my works has happened. This piece, a giclee, was sold and also 4 other original chicken artwork pieces. This artworks sale is a piece of Heaven for an artist! Kathy

L F excellent painting of these chickens. They remind me of seeing the wild chickens in the Hawaiian Islands. They had a disaster there and could not catch all the chickens that were let free. Now they breed in the wild.
